Welcome to FaithMate! Your privacy is important to us. This Privacy Policy explains how we handle your data when you use our mobile application ("FaithMate," "we," "our," or "us").

1. Data Collection and Storage

FaithMate is designed with a "Privacy First" approach. We do not collect or store your personal information on our servers. All your data is stored locally on your device using your browser's localStorage technology.

The following types of data are stored locally on your device:

• Prayer History: Records of when you have prayed and your current prayer streaks.
• Custom Prayers: Any prayers you write and save in your personal prayer book.
• Reading Progress: Your progress through Bible books and chapters.
• AI Conversation History: The text of your interactions with our AI Assistant.
• User Profile: Your chosen nickname, avatar preferences, and bio introduction.

We do not transmit, share, or sell this data to any external parties or servers.

2. Third-Party Services

To provide a full-featured experience, FaithMate integrates or links to the following third-party services:

• BibleGateway.com: We provide links to BibleGateway.com for users who wish to read full scripture passages. When you click these links, you are navigating to a third-party website with its own privacy policy.
• Font Awesome: We use Font Awesome's Content Delivery Network (CDN) to display icons within the app.
• Google Fonts: We use Google Fonts' CDN to provide a consistent and beautiful typography experience.

None of your personal data stored in FaithMate is shared with these third-party services.

3. Children's Privacy

FaithMate is not intended for use by children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child has provided us with personal information, please contact us.

4. User Rights

Since all your data is stored locally, you have full control over it. You can manage or delete your data at any time:

• Data Deletion: You can delete all your local data by going to Settings → Delete Account within the app.
• Irreversibility: Please note that once you delete your account/data, the action is irreversible, and your records cannot be recovered as we do not keep backups on any server.

5. Eligibility

You must be at least 13 years old to use FaithMate. By using the app, you represent and warrant that you meet this age requirement.

6. Account Registration

To use FaithMate, you must create an account. You agree to:

• Provide accurate and complete information
• Maintain the security of your account credentials
• Notify us immediately of any unauthorized use
• Be responsible for all activities that occur under your account

7. Virtual Items and Purchases

FaithMate offers virtual items for purchase within the app. These items:

• Are virtual decorations only and have no spiritual efficacy
• Are non-refundable except as required by law
• Cannot be exchanged for real money or goods
• May be subject to change or removal at our discretion

8. User Content

You retain ownership of content you create (custom prayers, posts, etc.). By submitting content, you grant us a license to display and store it within the app. You agree not to post content that:

• Is illegal, harmful, or offensive
• Violates others' rights
• Contains personal information of others without consent
• Is spam or commercial solicitation

9. Prohibited Conduct

You agree not to:

• Use the app for any illegal purpose
• Attempt to reverse engineer or hack the app
• Harass, abuse, or harm other users
• Impersonate any person or entity
• Interfere with the app's operation

10. AI Assistant Disclaimer

FaithMate's AI Assistant provides spiritual support and general guidance. It is not a substitute for professional mental health counseling. If you are in crisis, please contact emergency services (call 988 in the US).

11. Subscription and Payments

FaithMate offers optional subscription plans. Subscriptions:

• Auto-renew unless canceled at least 24 hours before renewal
• Can be managed in your app store account settings
• Are non-refundable once charged
• May be subject to price changes with notice

12. Termination

We may suspend or terminate your account if you violate these Terms. You may delete your account at any time via Settings → Delete Account. Upon termination, your data will be permanently deleted.

13. Disclaimer of Warranties

FaithMate is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. We do not guarantee that the app will be uninterrupted or error-free. We are not responsible for any spiritual, emotional, or physical outcomes from using the app.

14. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, FaithMate shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the app.

15. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.
